Indian FMCG leader, Hindustan Unilever has announced job opening for techies with skills in data science. The company is looking for the post of lead Data Scientist.

Lead Data Scientist | Bengaluru

Responsibilities:

• End to end ownership for data science on global initiatives, to include data and modelling approach, technical design, internal and external resource planning.
• Represent Data Science in cross-functional governance of major projects, typically engaging with stakeholders up to VP level.
• Managing a team of between 1 and 10 data scientists, including mentorship on project delivery and guidance on career development.
• Maintaining strong working relationships with 3rd party resource suppliers to ensure optimal project delivery while maximising the creation of Unilever IP.
• Defining Unilever's best practice on major data science topics.
• Recommending strategic areas of new capability to develop.
• Maintaining an internal and external thought leadership profile through activities such as speaking on data science with Unilever audiences up to exec level, presenting at recognised conferences, making peer-reviewed publications and participating in industry steering groups.

Required skills:

• Minimum of B.S. in a relevant technical field (e.g. Operations Research, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering); preferably a postgraduate (Masters or Doctorate) degree
• 10 years relevant experience, preferably in the CPG industry (or 7-8 years for those with a PhD)
• Experience managing the work team members and 3rd party resource vendors
• Deep experience presenting work and influencing decisions of senior non-technical stakeholders
• Deep experience of analytic solutions in a particular CPG function such as Customer Development, Supply Chain, Finance will be of value.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, including the ability to influence peers and senior project sponsors across Unilever.
